It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Wayne Burks of Mexia, Texas, who passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fern Burks and John Wesley Burks; and his stepmother Corrine Burks. He is survived by: his brothers-in-law, Duane Dooley and Jim Benson; his wife Diane; his children, Brad Burks (Susan) of Amarillo, Tracy Machacek (Randy) of Mexia and Wendy Ferderer (Jeff) of Lorena; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Burks, Sam Burks, Grant Ferderer, Nick Ferderer, Ben Burks and Wil Ferderer; his great grandchild Grayson Ferderer; his brother Ron Burks (Sherry) of Montgomery; and his stepsister Peggy Dooley of McKinney. He is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear family friends.
