He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Payne and Cleo Staudt Payne; his wife Peggy Joyce Payne; and his daughter Patricia Ann Payne. He is survived by: his uncle William (Bill); his children, William R. "Bill" Payne (Sheri) and Kathleen Stubbs (John); his grandchildren, John Sims Stubbs, III, Collin Forrest Stubbs (Nicole), Tyler Lyon (Olivia) and Morgan Payne; and his great grandchildren, Vada, Jack, Kylie and Korie.
