She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Ruben and Bertha Vest (Shugart); her husband R. D. Carter; her son Robert D. Carter, Jr.; and her siblings, Nelda Grabbs, Betty Lou Vest and Junior Ray Vest.

She is survived by: her daughter Regina Rae Turner (Jerry); her grandchildren, Robert Dalton Carter, III (Michelle), Steven Hogan (Ellen), Stacey Hogan (Jennifer) and Jay Turner (Sabra); her daughter-in-law Sandra Carter; and her sister-in-law Barbara Vest. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Blair Stubbs Funeral Home (605 S McKinney St, Mexia, TX 76667). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mexia Cemetery (900 N Kaufman St, Mexia, TX 76667).
