He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Sanderson and Aline Sanderson (Bunch); his wife Sue Sanderson; his brothers, Johnny and Richard Sanderson; his son-in-law John Cook; and his niece Shelli Larsen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lori Cook (James Younger) and Tammy Schulte (Blaine); his grandchildren, Jamie Nodine (Steven), Julie Mayfield (Brent), Justin Cook (Kourtney), Brittany Schulte, Sam Baez, Bethany Schulte and Jonathan Haddock; his great grandchildren, Jessica Nodine, Steven Nodine, Jr., Vanessa Nodine, Quentin Nodine, Dameon Cook, Lilly Gresham, Logan Nodine, Kiley Mayfield, Matthew Mayfield, Catelynn Mayfield, Zadie Mayfield, Allison Cook, John Cook and Amelia Arroyo-Baez; his sister Brenda Ridge (Charlie Morris); his nephews, Jason Ridge (Angela Ridge), Buster Horn and Jeff Horn; his niece Rhonda Warner; and his sister-in-law Kay Draughn.
