Robert Wayland Hurst Jr. Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 14, 2023, at the age of 91, Robert Wayland Hurst Jr. of Mesquite, Texas, born in Faxon, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, R. W. Hurst and Lettie Bennett Hurst; his siblings-in-law, Charles Paschal Gagliardo (Cathy) of College Station and Pauline Taylor Gagliardo; and his sisters, Naomi Tempke, Jada Knight and Violet Nesary.

He is survived by: his wife Charlene Gagliardo Hurst of Mesquite; his daughters, Traci Hurst Higgins (Chip Higgins) of The Woodlands, Texas and Kristi Hurst Gardner (Kreg Gardner) of Sunnyvale, Texas.; his grandchildren, Robert Higgins, Jeni Gardner Coonrod (Zach Coonrod), Katie Higgins, Sam Higgins, Will Higgins, Emma Gardner and Madi Gardner; his sister Lee Hurst Belt (R. K. Belt) of Lexington, Kentucky; and his brother-in-law Ed Gagliardo (Mary) of Garland. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
