She was predeceased by: her husband Jose Sanchez Monroy; her parents, Atanacio Alfaro and Evarista Quiroz Alfaro; her sisters, Epifania Garcia and Josefina Garza; her son-in-law Christian D. Leicht; and her grandson Taylor Joseph Leicht.
She is survived by: her siblings, Consuelo Robledo and Ruben Alfaro; and her children, Margaret Leicht, Deborah Martinez, Sandra Colvin, Audrey Medrano, Joseph Monroy and Mark Monroy. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
