He was predeceased by: his parents, Emeterio Monroy and Trinidad Sanchez; his sisters, Maria E. Dearing, Auxilia M. Guerra and Manuela Monroy; and his grandson Taylor Leicht.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Monroy; his siblings, Maria M. Tharp and Nicolas X. Monroy; and his children, Margaret Leicht, Deborah Martinez, Sandra Colvin, Audrey Medrano, Joseph Monroy and Mark Monroy. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
