Phyllis Gay Standard Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Phyllis Gay Standard of Mertzon, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 18, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pete Cooley and Jaunita Cooley; her brother Tom Cooley; and her sisters-in-law, Joan, Beca and Donna.
She is survived by: her husband Leon Standard; her daughter Lee; her siblings-in-law, Linda Donaughe (Rick) of Artesia, NM and Gary Standard of Midland, TX; her pet Magz; and her extended family, Harvey Hale (Krystal), Keith Hale (Taylor) and Barbara Reese.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the First Baptist Church - Mertzon (116 S First St, Mertzon, TX 76941).
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Irion Co. Volunteer Fire Department Mertzon Station, PO Box 92 Mertzon, TX 79641.
