He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Landon Rutledge and Margaret Lou Kinser-Rutledge. He is survived by: his sister Gay Lynn (John Millerman) of Richardson, TX; his children, Glyn Ann Townsend (Abilene), Ellyn Grove (Lipan), Brady Rutledge (Merkel), Chip, Kevin and Jerra; his grandchildren, Lexi Brookey (Ethan), Taylor Grove (Montell Meyer), Riley Grove (Landrey Grove), Trinity Townsend (Slade Townsend), Laramie, Emersyn and Owen Rutledge; his great grandchildren, Iris Brookey and Ford Brookey; and also Kreece Meyer.

A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (301 Locust St, Merkel, TX 79536).
