He is survived by: his wife Oleta Brenem of Merkel; his sons, Justin Burkes of Cleveland and Jason Burkes of Soddy Daisey, Tennessee; and his stepchildren, Jennifer Lowery of Abilene and Johnathan Brenem of Trent. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
