We are sad to announce that on December 29, 2024, at the age of 68, Maria Juanita Luna of Mercedes, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Juan Hinojosa and Flora Hinojosa; and her husband Jesse. She is survived by: her siblings, Armando Hinojosa, Julie Martinez (Ruben) and Javier Hinojosa (Linda); her stepdaughter Jessica Cooper; her grandchildren, Emily and Julisa; and her pets, Fideo and Tiger. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Mercedes (236 S Ohio Ave, Mercedes, TX 78570). A rosary was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (920 Anaquitas St, Mercedes, TX 78570-2204). A burial was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery (21037 Godwin Rd, Harlingen, TX 78550).
