He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Antonio Latigo and Benita Vela; and his sister Rosalinda Anderson. He is survived by: his significant other San Juanita Moreno; his daughters, Cynthia Castro (Armando) and Christie Johnson; his siblings, Jose Latigo, Juan Latigo Jr. Benito (Maria), Mary Latigo, Emma Martinez (Jose) and Alma Casarez; his grandchildren, Bianca Laren Castro, Armando Castro III (Kariely), Nathan Castro, Madelyn Alexandra Johnson, Catherine Megan Johnson and Alyson Taylor Johnson; and his great grandchild Autumn Harlow Castro.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Mercedes (236 S Ohio Ave, Mercedes, TX 78570). A rosary was held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 10:45 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (600 S Oklahoma Ave, Weslaco, TX 78596).
