It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Francisca Garcia Peña of Mercedes, Texas, who passed away on September 11, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Santiago Garcia Andrade and Crecencia Garcia Zapata; and her husband Aaron Paez. She is survived by: her daughter Norma Paez (Eduardo Arguello); her grandchildren, Jaime Marroquin (Karen Marroquin), Yuliana De and Brenda M. Lopez (Jorge Lopez); and her nephew Javier Rios (Lupita Rios). She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
