It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Estela E. Salazar (Mercedes, Texas), who passed away on October 14, 2019, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Genaro Sr. Cantú and Florinda Cantú; her husband Ricardo Salazar; and her brothers, Baldemar Cantú, Guadalupe Cantú and Genaro Cantú Jr..
She is survived by: her daughters, Celeste Esparza (Frank) and Edwina Treviño (Raúlᵻ); her grandchildren, Kristin Gutierrez (Jason), Lianna Esparza, Gabriel Esparza, Jaedn Treviño and Jensn Treviño; her great grandchildren, Teressa Bustos and Raegan Elizondo; her siblings, Antonio Cantú (Estela), Esmeralda Givilancz (Mike), Consuelo Garza (Rudyᵻ) and Carlota C. Noriega (Rueben E. Champion, Jr.); and her sisters-in-law, Frances Cantú, Elisa Cantú and Margarita Cantú. She is also survived by her husband of 54 years, daughters, and grandchildren.
