He was predeceased by: his father Pedro Cano; his daughter Ruby Ann Cano; and his siblings, Rosalio Cano and Justa Zavala. He is survived by: his wife San Juana Cano; his children, Melissa Trevino (Rolando), Marleen Cano (Erasmo January), Denise Gonzales, III (Manuel), Ramiro Lopez (Leticia) and Alberto Cano, Jr.; and his siblings, Jose Luis Cano, Pedro Cano (Rachel), Reymundo Cano, Esteban "Stevie" Cano (Lupita) and Lupita Padilla (Martin). He is also survived by grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
His final act was to give the gift of life through organ donation.
