He was predeceased by: his grandmother Beverley Kauth; and his uncle Michael Kauth. He is survived by: his parents, Brent Ray Brown of Melissa, Texas and Mary Katherine Kauth; his siblings, John Michael Brown of Lubbock, Texas and Katie Brown of Melissa, Texas; his grandparents, Jim Brown, Nell of Commerce and John E. Kauth of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his aunts and uncles, Kent (Susan Brown), Trent (Chantal Brown), David (Pat Kauth), Susan (David Ruen), Tom (Dian Kauth) and Ann (Terry Russell).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Matthew Brown Memorial Camp Scholarship fund through City Church Melissa.
