He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Wesley McDowell and Duella Mae Mann McDowell; his stepfather R. A. Beverly; and his granddaughter Victoria McDowell. He is survived by: his children, Wendy Durbin of Allen and Kevin McDowell (Mimi) of Amarillo; his sister Sandra Jo Morris of Logan; his grandchildren, LeSandra Botello, Jessica Smith (Coty), Madison Garrett Spring (Matthew), Lauren Alexandra Durbin and Grant Durbin; and his great grandchildren, Cohen Smith and Ari Smith.
