He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Nicholson and Bernice Nicholson of McLean, Texas.; and his brothers, Richard "Nick Nicholson, Hershel Nicholson, Michael Nicholson and Reynolds Jonkhoff.

He is survived by: his wife Sherry Cox; his children, Kenneth Nicholson (Cindy), Kevin Nicholson (Jamie), Lori Nicholson, Bryan Nicholson (Sara), Mathew Nicholson (Leah) and Kari Nicholson; his grandchildren, Whitney Tatum, Lindsey Nicholson, Christian, Creed Nicholson, Shelby Nicholson, Kaden, Karlee Nicholson and Audrey Nicholson; and his great grandchildren, Kyler Nicholson, Madison Rios, Keegan, Adrian Villanueva and Gracelyn Villegas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
