He was predeceased by: his father Raymond Smith; his stepmother Colleen Smith; his brothers, Rick Thomas and Vern Graham; and his daughter Uriah Smith.
He is survived by: his mother Mona Smith of Tennessee; his wife Tammy Smith of Ukiah, CA; his children, Raymond Smith of Green Valley, CA, Jonathan Johnson (Joleen Walker) of Green Valley, CA, Clinton Michael "Mikey" Smith of Ukiah, CA and Illa Layfield (Andy) of McLean; his siblings, Barry Thomas of Ukiah, CA, Jack Thomas (Kathy) of Willits, CA, Rocky Smith (Narda) of Eureka, CA, Jeffery Graham of Garberville, CA, Robert Riley of Garberville, CA, Debra Thomas of Portland, OR, Darlene Manners of Clarksville, TN and Theresa Riley; and his grandchildren, Dusty Layfield, Uriah Layfield, James Layfield, Harmony Johnson, Grace Johnson and Briella Walker. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
