She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Childs and Jewel Davis Carruth Childs; her husband Rev. George; her son Richard E. DeHorney, Sr.; her sons-in-law, Rev. Jerry L. DeHorney, Sr., Rev. Thurman C. DeHorney, Sr. and Robert L. DeHorney; and her siblings, Erma J. Childs, Eddie Mae Martin, James L. Carruth, James W. Childs (Tally) and Edward Childs.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Brown (Alvin), Phyllis Akers (Randall), Shirley Watson (Ebbie), Kristi Roberson (Terry), Felicia Hockoday (Aubrey), Paul E. DeHorney (Sheila), Eddie DeHorney (Martha), Harold DeHorney (Samira) and Anthony DeHorney (Alishia); and her children-in-law, George W. DeHorney, Jr. (Beverly), Francina DeHorney and Debra DeHorney. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren; and, many nieces and nephews.
