He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Harper and Clara Harper; his former wife Maxine "Billie" Harper (Prince); his daughter Brenda Harper; his granddaughter Stacey Keathley; and his siblings, Art Harper, Edwin Harper, Dub Wilson Harper, Geraldine Little and Merle Ragsdale.

He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Harper of McKinney, Texas; his children, Sharon Dees (Robert, Curtis Cady), Larry Harper, Carla White (Kevin) and Jill Darland (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Mike Dees, Katie Full (Carson, Alex Harper), Madelyn Harper, John White (Misty, Emily White), Cari White, Brian Keathley (Claire, Jacob Darland) and Caleb Darland. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
