He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Amos (Jim) and Hester Phipps (Bobbie) of Virginia; his wife Martha Bostick; his children, Jenny Powers (Roy) and JB Phipps (Leisha); his grandchildren, Ryan Powers (Kelly), Connor Powers and Wes Phipps; his siblings, Joe Phipps (Mary Lee), Carol Ann Stewart and Ellen; and his brother-in-law Ray Deaver. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
