It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Bowlin of McKinney, Texas, born in Smithdale, Mississippi, who passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lee Bowlin, Jr. and Rettie Mae Jernigan Bowlin; his wife Morese; his son Sammy Bowlin; and his siblings, Hazel Donaldson, Georgia Thornton, Doris Deas, Hilda Ham, Marguerite Pringle, John and Claude.
He is survived by: his daughter Beckie Bowlin Moody (John) of McKinney, TX; his daughter-in-law Dorcus Bowlin; his grandchildren, Ashley Moody Hardin (Wes), Nicole Bowlin (Judd Blades) and Dr. Marvin Cortez Bowlin; his great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Seth, Rosalyn, Warren, Jace, Avery and Connor; and his siblings-in-law, Nell Bowlin and Al Pringle. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
