She was predeceased by: her parents, Alphonso Sampson and Cledy Sampson (Cummings) of Maxton, NC; her husband Leon Locklear Sr. of North Charleston, SC; her son Gary Locklear of North Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Milo Locklear of Seattle, WA and Crystal Lloyd of Las Vegas, NV; and her brothers, Ralph, Sim and Wiley Sampson of Maxton, NC..
She is survived by: her sister LaeRuth Sampson of Maxton, NC; and her children, Leon Locklear (Barbara) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Jimmy Locklear (Sandra) of Burien, WA, Carolyn Hunter (Michael) of Sherman, TX, Karen Chambers (Joe) of North Charleston, SC, Bobby Locklear (Debbie) of Moncks Corner, SC and Sharon Wade (Randy) of McKinney, TX. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great children.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carolina Memorial Funeral Home (7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
