He was predeceased by: his parent Oscar Dennis; his son Rusty Stone; and his sister Norma Jean Leonard. He is survived by: his parent Ola Mae Stone (Rhoads); his spouses, Nancy Arnold and Nancy Stone; his son Ted Stone; his brothers, Dennis Wayne Stone (Faye) and Jimmy Dan Stone (Shirley); and his sister-in-law Edith Crain. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
