She was predeceased by: her sister Patricia La. She is survived by: her parents, Hilliard Thurmond and Viola Thurmond (Lester) of McGregor; her son Jonathan Thurmond; and her sisters, Donna Browder, Sheila Thurmond and Hilliary Evans. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
