He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Ray and Elvira Marie Turnipseed (Stiewert); his nephew Jason Turnipseed; and his parents-in-law, Marianne Lemming and Alfons Lemming.

He is survived by: his wife Claudia Turnipseed of McDade; his children, Joshua Turnipseed of Brenham, Amanda Myers (David) of Clute, Sonia Kelly (Kyle) of Temple, Cody Turnipseed of McDade and Amber Turnipseed (Jason Dube) of McDade; his grandchildren, McKenna Kelly of Temple, Madasyn Kelly of Temple, Luke Myers of Clute, Dawson Myers of Clute and Henry Myers of Clute; his brothers, Dale Turnipseed (Debbie) of Elgin and Ray Turnipseed (Carola) of Lexington; his stepmother Maxine Turnipseed of McDade; and his stepsister Benita Dees (Wade) of Elgin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as extended family and friends.
