He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold F. Thane and Lilly Thane (Niemann); his brother Roland Thane; and his stepmother Lona Thane. He is survived by: his wife Mollie Byrd Thane; his daughters, Cindy Lee Sang (Jerome) and Mindy Facey (Donavon, Jr.); his aunt Marilyn Zuhlke (Harold); and his grandchildren, Tabitha Garcia (David), Bridget Lee Sang, Rachel Woodbury (Christopher), Sarah Lee Sang, Michael Lee Sang, William Lee Sang, Megan Facey, Lauren Facey and Donavon Facey, III.
