He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret; and his son Chuck. He is survived by: his children, Cindy Bishop, Debbie Janysek (Ron), Jeanne Newman (Paul) and Scott Bishop (Paulette); and his grandchildren, Andrew Janysek (Kayla) and Hilary Janysek (Chris Piña).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Edinburg Fire Department in Shorty Bishop's name.
