He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gaskill Hays and Wanda Evelyn Church. He is survived by: his wife Abigail Hays; and his stepchildren, Orlando Jerez, Edgar Jerez and Gloria Chavez. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
