He was predeceased by: his parents, Ismael Salinas Garza and Francisca Vasquez Garza; and his brother Rudolfo Garza. He is survived by: his children, Raul Pena Jr., Sarah Garza Fernandez (Dave), Joanna Garza Trinidad (Andrew), Cynthia Garza, Mary "Maggie" Garza, Victor Saucedo (Lizeth), Juan Santana (Jessica), Rogelio Garcia and Jose Lara; his adoptive son Rogelio Reyes (Norma); his siblings, Ismael Garza (Gloria Irma), Hector Mario Garza (Carmela), Ernesto Garza (Nancy), Roel Garza, Yolanda Garza (Edgar Angel), Lydia Garza Fernandez (Miguel Angel), Yesenia Garza Anguiano (Ramiro) and Olga Orta Garza; and his close friends, Jose Martinez, Juan Hernandez, Lupe Hernandez, Martin Almanza and Rogelio Reyes.
