He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hedtke and Ruth Hedtke (Lindberg); his brother Arlyn Hedtke; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Boreen and Larry Anderson.

He is survived by: his wife Judith Herr; his children, Jay (Tracey) of Grove City, Justin (Jackie) of Atwater and Teresa Carlson (Steve) of Litchfield; his grandchildren, Travis Hanson (Miracle), Whitney Wendorff (Travis), Courtney Bipes (Adam), Andrew Hedtke, Brett Hedtke (Jessica), Brendan Hedtke, Jayson Hedtke, Brayden Hedtke, Brock Hedtke, Alex Carlson and Brooke Hedtke; his great grandchildren, Carson, Jackson, Jordan, Cooper Wendorff and Wesley Bipes; his siblings, Edryce Boreen of Gordon, WI, Audrey Anderson of Litchfield, MN and Kayleen Johnson (Ken) of New London, MN; and his sister-in-law Bernie Hedtke of Grove City, MN..
