He is survived by: his children, Jose Rolando Lara and Nyomi Yvonne Lara; his grandchildren, Mireya O. Trejo, Mark A. Alvarez and Marshall A. Alvarez; his brother Jorge A. Lara; his sister-in-law Elizabeth "Liz" Lara; and his nieces and nephews, Aaron Lara (Liza), Lisa Anne Lara Flores (Tommy), John Lara, James Lara, Michelle Lara Elliot (Glenn) and Michael Lara.
