He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Consuelo Diaz; his daughter Dalia Murphy; his parents, Leonardo Diaz and Ramona Diaz; and his siblings, Vicente Diaz and Rafaela Sotelo.
He is survived by: his sons, Mario Diaz and Luis Diaz; his son-in-law Michael Murphy; and his siblings, Victoria Whatley and Roman Diaz. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
