He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Angel Guerra Sr. and Julia Guerra; his wife Sylvia Flores Guerra; and his siblings, Maria Estefana and Jesus Alejo.
He is survived by: his sisters, Alicia Elidia Tijerina and Socorro Lucio (Roberto); his children, Jose Angel Guerra III, Maria Teresa Ramirez (Michael) and Sylvia Iris Ornelas (Albert); his grandchildren, Samantha Jo Rodriguez (Alberto), Madeline Ramirez, Miguel Ramirez, Mario Ornelas, Jaqueline Ornelas, Andrea Ornelas, Sophia Ornelas and Daniella Ornelas; his great grandchildren, Natalia Rodriguez, Alberto Rodriguez Jr. and Daniela Rodriguez; and his caregivers, Hugo Garcia, Martha De La Garza, Annabelle Paris and Omar Rodriguez.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Saint Margaret Catholic Church in Pharr.
