He is survived by: his mother Maria Luisa Fraire (Fraire); and his siblings, Juan Cortez (Melissa) of Weslaco, Miguel Cortez of Houston, Ray Cortez of Houston and Holly Powell (Scott) of Weslaco. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
