He is survived by: his children, Alejandro Montemayor (Edna), Maria Arredondo (Benjamin), Josefa Gutierrez (Roel) and Lilia St. Clair; his siblings, Ruben N. Montemayor (Teresa) and Maria; and his grandchildren, Alex Andrew Montemayor, Angela Serna (Richard), Benjamin Arredondo, III (Frances), Steven Gutierrez (Keyla), Samuel Gutierrez, Elizabeth St. Clair, Alejandro Montemayor Jr., Michael Saucedo (Denise), Tomas Gomez, Samuel Chapa (Lynn) and Jennifer Acuna (Adrian). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
