She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Miguel Angel Nevarez Sr. and Lucila Pena Nevarez; her brother Antonio Humberto Nevarez; her half-sister Graciela Nevarez Castro; and her sister-in-law Blanca Medina Nevarez.

She is survived by: her children, Maria, Sylvia, Eduardo and Lazaro.
