He was predeceased by: his parents, Ciro Guerra and Ernestina Gomez; and his siblings, Leonel Guerra, Ernestina G. Cavazos, Ruben Guerra, Ciro Guerra Jr., Guadalupe G. Castro and Bertha G. Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Alicia Munoz Guerra; his children, Gilbert L. Guerra Jr. (Estela), Gabriel L. Guerra (Fausta), Gerard L. Guerra (Clarissa), Gerald L. Guerra (Dalia) and Liza Marie Guerra (Rene); his grandchildren, Evan Guerra, Deja Delgado, Kaitlyn Guerra, Victoria Guerra, Gabriel Guerra Jr., Adele Guerra and Brianna Silva; and his siblings, Martin Guerra Sr., Ramon Guerra Sr., Roberto Guerra, Jorge Guerra, Hector Guerra, Angelina Perez and Norma Castillo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
