He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonardo Mejia and Benita N. Mejia. He is survived by: his wife Aida Aracely G. Mejia; his children, Jose Mejia, Felipe Mejia Jr. and Aracely Mejia; and his grandchildren, Jose Miguel Mejia, Felipe Mejia III and Deborah Abigail Mejia.
