He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophie and Edwin Forshage Sr.; his sisters, Frances Terry (Sam) and Marion O'Neal (Ray); and his niece Margaret McClusky.

He is survived by: his wife Alta Zoe Pape of Seguin; his children, Ellen Linbeck (Leo), Eddie Forshage III (Herminia), Joe Forshage (Shawn) and Chris Forshage (Sydney); his grandchildren, Leo IV, Carolina, Francisco, Vivi, Berhane Linbeck, Stephen (Melissa), Genie, Morgan Forshage, Glynn (Alicia), Evan, Price Forshage (Enya), Claire Renegar (Travis), Olivia and Sonny Forshage; and his sister Carol. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
