He was predeceased by: his parents, Octaviano Rodriguez and Isabel Rodriguez (De La Garza); his siblings, Yolanda, Leonel, Isabel and Benjamin; and his sons, Fernando and Carlos.

He is survived by: his wife Emilda Rodriguez (Botello); his great grandchild Miguel Jr.; his children, Manuel (Diana), Mark, Javier (Michelle) and Iliana; and his siblings, Ninfa and Arnold. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
