He was predeceased by: his mother Sara Rios Flores; his significant other Elizabeth Anaya (Betty); his father Abel Flores Sr.; his brother Abel Flores Jr.; and his sister-in-law Haydee Flores.

He is survived by: his daughter Sara Elizabeth Munguia (Alfredo) of McAllen; his grandchildren, Alfredo Ernesto Munguia (Sandra) and Marissa Elizabeth Ramirez (Will) of Austin; his great grandchildren, Arianna and Alexa Munguia; and his brothers, Alonzo Angel Flores of McAllen and Rene A. Flores (Mary) of Harlingen. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
