He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Orendain and Raquel Ramirez Orendain; and his brother Juan Antonio Orendain (Maura). He is survived by: his wife Lillian Orendain; his children, Abel Antonio Orendain II (Marissa) of San Antonio, Joshua Anthony Orendain of Austin, Jonathan Abel Orendain, Hannah Mae Orendain and Jake Russell Orendain of McAllen; his grandson Abel Antonio Orendain III; and his siblings, Amada R. Orendain of Miami, Nina Melanie Orendain (Mickey Baeza) of Dallas, Nancy R. Orendain (Mahesh Shrestha) of Philadelphia and Joseph L. Orendain (Carmen) of Edinburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Memorial Offerings be made to the St. John's Food Pantry, a ministry that Abel loved, organized, and supported for many years.
