He was predeceased by: his parents, Essie Mae Smith and J. W. Arnold (Sam); his daughter Marcie Nicole Merritt; and his brothers, William Copeland (Bill) and Albert James Arnold (Al).

He is survived by: his wife Karol; his siblings, Jay W. Arnold (Kathy), Peggy Ray (Harry) and Charlene Rockett; his children, Hollis Hintz (Jeremy) and Zach Arnold (Abby); and his grandchildren, Jolie, Jayden Merritt, Marsten and Mykenzi Hintz.
