With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melva Muriel Groom (Mathis, Texas), who passed away on June 7, 2019 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Thelma Muriel Lemley; her parents-in-law, Orin Curtis Groom and Ethel Corrin Fuller; her siblings, Gladwell McCain, Dalton McCain (Lela), Elvis McCain (Barbara), Janet Alston (Hurshell) and Bobbye Parker (Jerry Bob); her brother-in-law Thompson; her son-in-law Wilbert Buetow; and her great grandchild Kaitlyn Heavenly Hope Groom.
She is survived by: her children, Lyndall Groom (Teresa), Kerwin Groom (Carolyn), Nita Buetow and Delyane Selby (David); and her siblings, Neva Thompson, Doyle McCain and Dwain McCain (Bobbi). She is also survived by cousins and friends.
A donation in her honor to your favorite charity is encouraged as Melva supported many causes dear to her heart including the American Heart Association, Easter Seals, Shriners Hospital, St. Jude Hospital, MD Anderson Hospital, Disable Vets and Wounded Warriors.
