She was predeceased by: her parents, Francisco Alaniz and Tomasa Lopez Alaniz; her brother Francisco Alaniz Jr.; her son Jessie Coronado; her great grandchild Amabella Franco; and her son-in-law Ray Soto.
She is survived by: her husband Ruben S. Garza; her children, Paula Harris (Gary), Belia Soto, Mary Flores and Juan Coronado (Alma); and her siblings, Lupe Puentes, Juanita Huerta, Melba Henson, Modesta Hernandez, Rachel Showalter, Jose Alaniz, Juan Alaniz, Samuel Alaniz and Benjamin Alaniz. She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
