He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvo Lee Ashley and Opal Lea McCoy Gregory. He is survived by: his son Austin Alan Ashley (Hallie); his stepdaughter Mysti Ashley; and his siblings, Ginger Lamkin, Janet S. Pollock (Freddie) and Gary Ashley (Patsy, Jimmie Ashley). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as other loving family and friends.
