As we bid June Margaret Housley farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For June Margaret Housley is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Housley and Margaret Nicol Housley; her husband Jack Freitag; and her brother Glenn Housley. She is survived by: her sons, Ron Freitag (Heidi) of Austin, TX, Rick Freitag (Sherry) and Roger Freitag of George West, TX.. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Winsteads' Funeral Home (121 N Duval St, Mathis, TX 78368).
Her contributions to these groups reflected her passion for fostering community spirit and promoting literacy and joy through reading and gardening.
