He is survived by: his wife Gloria Trevino Rivas; his children, Betty Rivas, Debbie Garcia (Ismael), Mary Jane Hernandez (Manuel), Irene Gonzales (Adam) and Alfredo Rivas (Denise) of Amarillo, Texas.; his siblings, Maria Carranza (Felix) of Mathis, Margarita, Herrera of Mathis, Martha Perez of San Antonio, Valdemir Rivas of Minnesota, Samuel Rivas of Mathis, Joe, Santos Rivas of Mathis and Mike Rivas of Michigan; and his grandchildren, Nicole Martinez (Alex), Kristina Ramos, Amanda Rivas, Ashley Calvillo, Erica Ruggles (Casey), Esteban, Adam Ceballos, Christian Mendoza, Richard Ochoa, Joshua and Jude Hernandez. He is also survived by Twenty six great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
